孤居を出、長いトンネルを抜けると電気街であった。
明日からまたバイト、遠出するなら今日か。その思いが私の脚を動かした。この日東京は最高気温34℃を記録し、九月も半ばだというのに殺人的な猛暑。しかし地図を片手に汗を拭う私は、不思議と気持ちが高揚していた。一軒目のお店は「スーパーポテト」。圧倒的な品揃えが魅力で、こと裸カセッツ・VBソフトに関しては他店に比べ頭一つ抜きん出ている印象を受けた。価格設定はやや高めか。
店内に「VBワリオランド アワゾンの秘宝」の試遊台が設置されていたが、延べ5分間に渡る脳内会議の末、「大人な対応でやり過ごす」ことにした。因みに販売価格は8400円（新品）、財布の紐は緩む素振りすら見せず、バッグへと戻った。VBコンプへの道は長く険しい。突き付けられた現実に怯みつつ、私は階段を上った
